Day 1 Yorktown, VA to Chickahominy Riverfront Park

Total distance 30.8 miles, elevation gain 843 feet. Weather cloudy, windy and 50’s to start, 60’s and sunny by afternoon.

Good first day to test out our bikes and camping gear. Mostly of the route was on the Colonial Parkway. The parkway from Williamsburg to Jamestown was closed to cars for the weekend so that was a special treat.

    1. Being a semi truck driver. I was not allowed to get off the main route. Also time frame was restricted.. But looks like you two are really enjoying yourselves. My God continue to bless the two of you.

  2. Looks like all is going well so far. Interesting all of the history that you are getting to take in. Your tent looks more spacious than I expected. And, good to see that Pat is finding time to knit – how did you fit your yarn, needles, etc. in your limited poundage? And the adventure continues . . . .

  4. Glad to see you’re going with Rao’s pasta sauce. I discovered this brand a couple years ago after watching a taste test on Cook’s Country. One of the few grocery items I gladly pay a premium price for (although Kroger’s Private Selection brand is pretty good, too). You deserve the best after riding all day !
