Total miles: 25 miles, +/-: 1,614/1,657. Total miles so far 945. Weather sunny and 86. Another hot ride today. Did short one to set us up for locations we are heading. Mark does a lot of planning to figure out 2 to 3 days ahead of us.
We hated leaving the beautiful campground we spent the night.
Rode past the restaurant we had dinner at with Judy and John. This was 5 miles past campground it was a lot quicker yesterday in car and didn’t remember hills. Oh to have a motor! We ran into 3 Eastbound cyclist Kathryn, Alice and Eddie that started in Missouri. They are riding from Missouri to Yorktown VA as a training ride as plan to do Northern route across the USA next year.Mark riding over Rough River Lake Dam was rehabilitated by US Army Corps of Engineers Fordsville town diner our dinner choice of meat with two sides and roll $7 can’t beat that with home cooking.Camped at the shelter at the Fordsville Park.Tent set up under pavilion to avoid dew in morning. You can see the far building which was shower and restroom. Yes we got 10,000 steps in just using it!
We are hearing a lot of cicadas near wooded areas and a few on the road. Trying not to run them over.
Ha, you are getting in steps as well as miles on your bikes – lots of exercise! You are getting very close to 1,000 miles – most impressive, Pat and Mark!
Better Cicadas than nails. So glad you city born and bred “kids” are able to experience the rural way of life; $7 meals, can’t get that at Mariano’s meals to go. Keep enjoying those experiences.
We are enjoying you daily blogs, sounds like a fun trip and it looks like you are doing just that. Happy Trails
