Day 32 Fordsville, KY to Sebree, KY

Total miles: 51, +/- elevation, 2270/2343, Total miles 996. Rained most of day so spent time putting rain gear on and taking it off. Temp was 75 so a bit cooler but high humidity.

Doolin’s Grocery was great respite out of rain
Elvis Doolin has a long resume. Ohio County Sheriff, Farmer, small Business owner and currently Grocery Store Owner and Ohio County Coroner. Was great talking to him. Mark rates the homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies as best so far on trip!!!
Lots of Grads and proud families
AT&T hard at work for KY residents in Utica
Green River before getting to Sebree

Our destination for today was Sebree, Kentucky. We stayed the biker hostel at The Sebree First Baptist Church. The hostel had everything we needed including showers with towels, a kitchen, washer dryer and plenty of room to relax and spread out. It was the best we have stayed at so far. Met met 3 other cyclists and shared our experiences and adventures so far.

Westbound cyclists Shelly and Jens live in Eugene, Oregon a few miles off the trans am trail are biking home! They are traveling at more our speed so this may not be the last time we see them on the trip.

Westbound cyclist Ethan. He is moving from New York to San Jose and biking across the US and down the Pacific Coast. Ethan stayed at the Texas Longhorn Ranch hostel we visited and reported it was a great experience. Donna who gave us the T-bone steaks fixed him up with a homemade meatloaf dinner. Ethan is thinking about riding over 100 + miles tomorrow to make it to Carbondale, IL.

  2. Wow—51 miles, very impressive. When we hear from you next you will likely be in Illinois. I continue to be amazed at how welcoming the towns along your path have been. And how many nice people you have met. Continued safe travels.
