Today’s Stats: Total Miles 58, +/- Elevation, 1,175/1,145, Total Miles 1616. Weather today was 90 with humidity.

Yeah milestone today changed to new map. Map 8 – Girard, KS to Alexander, KS

Utility Company doing some repairs from last nights storm.

Always good to remind the motorists!

Church hostel where we stopped to fill up water bottles as we passed by.

Church unlocked with signs to help ourselves to snacks, juice, ice cream etc. AMAZING

We stopped at convenience store in Walnut and saw this sign.

So sad Main Street sparse of any store fronts or restaurants and once was probably thriving.

An oasis found about 20 miles down the road a Golf Course with club house that we were able to get a cool drink. They were hosting a benefit golf tournament for the city we were heading to. Talked with Farmer who was golfing with his son. He was very interested in our journey it is always fun to talk to local.

Check out the new adornment to helmet called Da-Brim. Received just in time for our time through KS.

Made it to Chanute, KS. What kept us going in heat was rest day in our immediate future.
I like Da Brim, Pat and Mark – good idea! Congrats on making it to another map. Love the hospitality that you are encountering throughout your trip.

You are both amazing! I hate even walking in the heat – let alone riding a bike! The pictures are lovely and I like your hat addition, Pat. I hope it helps keep your face a little cooler.
