RAGBRAI Day 6 Charles City to West Union

A few more hills today as we continue across Iowa. Every day we have a town with services and food about 10-20 miles apart. These towns go all out to welcome riders with food, entertainment, plus displays about local information and history. Cities compete ever year to be a RAGBRAI “pass-through” town. Because RAGBRAI runs a different route every year, the event has been in every county and over 80% of Iowa cities.

Saw many barn quilts as we rode through the countryside side
Lamp posts decorated with beautiful flowers and bikes
Two seater recumbent and the man that designed it was the driver in front! An Iowa company this built for him.
RAGBRAI riders leaving their greetings
Fund raising with chances to win this quilt
Just can’t get away from the Telephone Company
She never took a break
Dave, Pat and Mark in front of a giant corn cob made with milk jugs
Our campground had evening entertainment. Performers were the 2018 American Idol Maddie Poppe and The Elders an Irish band.

    1. It was fun having David with us! We had no idea what it would be like with the masses of bike riders but once you got the rhythm of the ride it went smoothly lots of moving parts!
